ROME: Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s arch-conservative Brothers of Italy group gained essentially the most votes on this weekend’s European parliamentary election, exit polls mentioned on Sunday (Jun 9), confirming its standing as Italy’s hottest celebration.

An exit ballot for state broadcaster RAI mentioned Brothers of Italy gained between 26-30 per cent of the vote, with the centre-left opposition Democratic Celebration (PD) coming second with 21-25 per cent

The opposite major opposition celebration, the 5-Star Motion, was seen on 10-14 per cent, whereas Forza Italia, based by the late Silvio Berlusconi, was in fourth place on 8.5-10.5 per cent, probably beating its previous ally, the far-right League, which was on 8-10 per cent.

Brothers of Italy gained simply 6.4 per cent of the vote within the final EU poll in 2019, however jumped forward of all different events in 2022 nationwide elections, when it took 26 per cent, with Italians seeing Meloni as a no-nonsense, straight-talking chief.
