Decide James Boasberg on Friday sided with felony gang members and prolonged his momentary restraining order (TRO) within the Alien Enemies Act case till April 12.

The TRO was set to run out on March 29.

“On March 15, 2025, this Courtroom issued two Non permanent Restraining Orders that may expire on March 29, 2025, except prolonged. These TROs enjoin Defendants from eradicating from the USA the named Plaintiffs — and a provisionally licensed class of all noncitizens in U.S. custody — solely on the idea of the Presidential Proclamation entitled, “Invocation of the Alien Enemies Act Concerning the Invasion of the USA by Tren de Aragua.” Plaintiffs have now filed a Movement to Lengthen the TROs for an additional 14 days for “good trigger.” ECF No. 64 (Mot.) at 1; see additionally Fed. R. Civ. P. 65(b)(2) (courtroom could lengthen TRO for “like interval” if there may be “good trigger” to take action),” Decide Boasberg wrote.

Decide Boasberg mentioned he’s extending his TRO as a result of the plaintiffs want extra time to file motions and put together arguments.

“As this Courtroom lately defined, Plaintiffs are entitled to a TRO enjoining their elimination at the very least till they’ve had an opportunity to problem that they’re lined by the Proclamation,” Decide Boasberg wrote.

The DC Circuit Courtroom of Appeals on Wednesday denied the Trump DOJ’s request to elevate Decide Boasberg’s block on the Alien Enemies Act deportation flights.

The three decide panel on the DC Circuit Courtroom: Henderson (George W. Bush appointee), Millett (Obama appointee), and Walker (Trump appointee) voted 2-1 – with Decide Walker dissenting.

President Trump on Friday requested the US Supreme Courtroom to intervene within the Alien Enemies Act case after a federal appeals courtroom denied the keep of an injunction barring the Trump administration from deporting felony aliens.
