There have been loads of questions surrounding J.D. Martinez and the San Francisco Giants this offseason.
Jon Heyman of the New York Publish reported close to the top of February that Martinez rejected the Giants’ supply as a result of he “did not wish to go there.” Bob Nightengale from USA At this time then reported that was not the case in any respect. Somewhat, Nighengale heard that that Martinez had rejected the Giants’ $14 million supply as a result of he needed a second 12 months. Martinez was the one one that knew the reality.
These questions received louder after Martinez signed with the Mets on Friday. Andy Martino from SNY reported that Martinez signed a one 12 months contract price $4 million, with one other $1.5 million per 12 months deferred from 2034 by 2038. Martinez was taking a considerably decrease wage to sign up New York.
He answered these questions on Saturday. Anthony DiComo from MLB.com quoted Martinez as saying the explanation why he turned the Giants down needed to do with the ballpark. He famous that Oracle Park is a tough stadium to hit in, particularly the opposite manner. As Martinez is advancing in age, how the ballpark performs is extra of a priority.
