Sony Photos Classics has acquired Bernard MacMahon‘s hybrid docu-concert movie Turning into Led Zeppelin, taking all rights in North America, Latin America, the Center East, Southeast Asia (excluding Japan), and Benelux.
Powered by never-before-seen footage, performances and music, the movie is billed as an experiential cinematic odyssey exploring Led Zeppelin‘s inventive, musical, and private origin story. It’s advised in Led Zeppelin’s personal phrases and is the primary formally sanctioned movie on the group.
Screening as a work-in-progress on the 2021 Venice Movie Competition, the place it acquired a 10-minute standing ovation, the movie now incorporates a brand-new sound combine, newly unearthed materials from the archives of all 4 band members (together with dwelling films and household pictures), and unique interviews with Jimmy Web page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones, in addition to never-before-heard interviews with the late John Bonham.
