EXCLUSIVE: Aneek Chaudhuri’s Indian arthouse characteristic Ashva has been snapped up for worldwide distribution.
L.A.-based Adler & Associates Leisure has swooped for the pic, recognized internationally as A White Horse’s Neigh, on the Marché du Movie in Cannes.
Solid contains Tamalynne Grant, Ranjan Giri, Usha Banerjee, Rahuul Gupta, Shalini and Rashmi Kumari, with the story mixing Indian storytelling traditions with Norse mythology.
Pic explores themes of affection, prostitution, time, and cosmic longing by the legend of eight legendary horses and the hunt for one misplaced steed that’s believed to come back from a future realm. It’s set throughout the Kolkata and the Sundarbans.
Adler & Associates stated it was “a movie of transcendent relevance and poetic power, destined to attach deeply with world audiences.”
“Ashva shouldn’t be merely a movie – it’s a meditation on time and tenderness, drawn from mythology however grounded in human longing,” stated Chaudhuri. “I’m honoured that Adler & Associates will take this journey ahead globally.”
His earlier movies embody The Symphony of Pansies, The Spouse’s Letter, The Zebras, White, Darkish Begin and Cactus.
Ashva is now positioned for competition runs and a world launch by Adler & Associates.
