To the editor: Regardless of the diploma to which our founding fathers have been involved about limitless government energy and the constitutional want for checks and balances on the president, there’s a far more vital conclusion to be drawn from the author’s historic account. (“The American presidency is probably the most {powerful} job on this planet. Too {powerful},” Opinion, Sept. 11)
Specifically, compared to any of the founders, the Federalist Society and their tied-at-the-hip suppose tank Heritage Basis have lately made clear they haven’t any issues a few too-powerful presidency.
My, how issues have modified.

To the editor: Not solely would the founders be frightened by our imperial presidency.
Throughout Sen. Frank Church’s investigations into the abuse of energy by our authorities within the Nineteen Seventies, he stated this throughout an look on “Meet the Press” in 1975:
“If this authorities ever grew to become a tyranny, if a dictator ever took cost on this nation, the technological capability that the intelligence group has given the federal government may allow it to impose complete tyranny, and there could be no solution to combat again.”
And it could be a lot worse 50 years later
