SYDNEY: A technical outage crippled all of Australia’s main airports on Friday (Nov 8) morning, resulting in lengthy queues at worldwide terminals after the disruption of automated kiosks for id and facial recognition, authorities mentioned.

In a press release the Australian Border Power (ABF) mentioned immigration employees had been added to manually course of travellers, including, “the difficulty is presently being rectified and techniques are slowly returning on-line”.

No flights have been affected at Australia’s busiest airport in Sydney, a spokesperson mentioned by electronic mail, however added, “inbound and outbound queues are longer than ordinary”.

In an replace, the ABF mentioned it “has been working to revive a technical outage impacting each inbound and outbound passengers at worldwide airports nationwide this morning”.

The difficulty was resolved by noon, mentioned the ABF, including that the reason for the technical situation stays below investigation.
