I’m extraordinarily happy to see that the Washington Senate handed a globally groundbreaking invoice — Home Invoice 1153 — this week to pre-emptively prohibit octopus farming in our state, thus sending it to Gov. Jay Inslee’s desk for a signature.

As somebody who, like many, thinks octopuses are wondrous and implausible creatures worthy of safety from pointless hurt, I used to be completely satisfied to advocate for this invoice to make Washington a extra compassionate state.

The merciless apply of manufacturing facility farming octopuses is a burgeoning business internationally, and I’m so glad to see Washington get forward of it.
