Pop singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha alleged she was a sufferer of a hate crime after being banned from a Munich-based Lufthansa flight for talking Albanian to a safety agent.
“I’ve been threatened as a result of I assumed the safety agent was Albanian,” the singer captioned tearful movies posted to her Instagram Story on Saturday. “I spoke to him in Albanian asking the place to get my ticket and now he’s banning me from the flight.”
The dance/R&B musician, who has collaborated with Doja Cat, David Guetta, Eminem, and Florida Georgia Line, is of North Macedonian and Albanian descent.
“I consider this to be a hate crime as a result of I’m Albanian,” she wrote in a second Story put up, which has since expired. “[The supervisor] wouldn’t let me take his identify. He continued to mentally abuse me to make me really feel like he was extra highly effective then [sic] he was. Not one of many girls at @Lufthansa stepped in or stated one thing.”
In a later replace, the “I’m Good” singer shared that the airline had contacted her concerning the incident.
“I’ve by no means been so emotionally drained. @Lufthansa has direct messaged me however I urge them to do a full investigation on discovering out who this man who was abusing his energy is. An ‘I’m sorry’ just isn’t gonna reduce it this time,” she wrote.
In a last message shared Sunday, Rexha stated she had made it again residence. “Thanks everybody who messaged me and confirmed concern. I received residence secure, thank God.”
In Leisure Weekly and CNN statements, the airline stated it’s conducting an “inside overview” on the matter.
