WASHINGTON: Two big pandas arrived on the Washington zoo on Tuesday (Oct 14) within the newest chapter in China’s marketing campaign of worldwide “panda diplomacy”.

Bao Li, a male panda, and Qing Bao, a feminine, had been flown from Chengdu to Dulles airport in Virginia aboard a FedEx Boeing 777F cargo aircraft dubbed the “Panda Specific,” the Smithsonian Nationwide Zoo mentioned.

The three-year-old bears had been then loaded on to vans and brought to their new residence on the zoo within the US capital.

“Bao Li and Qing Bao exited their crates and started exploring their new indoor enclosures, wherein keepers positioned ample bamboo for the bears to eat,” a zoo assertion mentioned.

It mentioned they are going to be quarantined for at the least 30 days and won’t go on public show till Jan 24, 2025.
