To the editor: It’s the obligation of Congress to assist remedy the nation’s issues. So it’s unhappy to learn that some congressional Republicans are actually opposing the deal that has been hammered out by trustworthy members just because Donald Trump needs to marketing campaign for the presidency utilizing the border disaster as a difficulty.
Is that this the place our beloved nation is now at? Should the nation endure due to one egocentric individual’s ambition to grow to be president?
When will Republicans in Congress get up to the truth that the nation is being destroyed by one megalomaniac, they usually can really do one thing about it?

To the editor: I approached David Lauter’s latest article on immigration with nice anticipation. This is a matter that divides us, and Lauter presents numerous compelling arguments to assist the notion that we’d like extra immigration.
What he sidesteps is the actual query and the proverbial elephant within the room: What number of undocumented immigrants does the U.S. want?
I feel the reply is zero. Sure certainly, we’d like immigrants to bolster our workforce and contribute to the richness of our communities, however there are insurance policies and procedures for find out how to legally enter and stay in our nation.
Personally, I don’t know anybody who’s against authorized immigration, however leaving the borders to our nice nation this porous just isn’t going to make us stronger.
