Milko Lazarov’s Tarika will likely be Bulgaria‘s Worldwide Function Movie submission for the 98th Academy Awards.
The movie, starring Veseka Valcheva and Zahari Baharov, premiered in October on the BFI London Movie Competition. and gained Greatest Movie and the FIPRESCI Award on the Kolkata Worldwide Movie in December.
Tarika is the worldwide title of the film, whose whose authentic Bulgarian title, Стадото, interprets to The Herd in English.
The film explores the themes of tolerance and good vs. evil by way of the story of Tarika (Valcheva), a woman with medical situation which will give her supernatural talents. She had been accepted by the village she and her father (Baharov) dwell in till livestock begin to mysteriously die and the villagers blame her.
