Former African Union ambassador to the US says US authorities’s help company had a ‘main meddling agenda’ throughout Africa.

Removed from being a tragedy for Africa, the demise of the US Company for Worldwide Improvement (USAID) by the hands of President Donald Trump’s administration needs to be trigger for celebration, argues Arikana Chihombori-Quao, the previous ambassador of the African Union to the US.

Chihombori-Quao tells host Steve Clemons that USAID doesn’t have a lot to indicate for its many years of training and healthcare tasks in Africa and infrequently destabilised nations beneath the guise of environmental, human rights or social justice agendas.

And if the US shouldn’t be eager about Africa, African leaders shouldn’t beg for higher relations, she mentioned. “It takes two to tango,” the previous diplomat mentioned.
