Democrat Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has vetoed the ICE Act, which might have mandated state and native regulation enforcement to cooperate with federal officers to facilitate deportations.

“I’ll proceed to work with the federal authorities on true border safety, however we should always not drive state and native officers to take marching orders from Washington D.C.,” Hobbs concluded.
Arizona Home Democrats publicly celebrated Hobbs overruling the vote of the Republican-controlled legislature.
In a publish on X, the Home Democrats wrote, “Thanks @GovernorHobbs for the veto on SB1164! Racial profiling, sowing division, concern and trampling on due course of rights shouldn’t have any place in Arizona.”
