Based mostly on California’s expertise, all that’s clear about both alternative is that neither aspect can declare any revenue, or environmental profit, from a rise in ridership for his or her visions. They don’t have any management over that variable. And with out actual engineering, prices for both alternative are best-guess projections.
If bettering rail service so it doesn’t develop into out of date is the expectation, then bettering the present system is smart over time. The high-speed rail choice stays a wasteful and dear fetish of city elites.
