SUVA: Seven foreigners together with 4 Australians and an American have been hospitalised after consuming cocktails at a five-star Fiji lodge resort, well being officers mentioned on Sunday (Dec 15).

The lodge company have been taken to hospital on Saturday night time struggling “nausea, vomiting and neurological signs”, Fiji’s well being ministry mentioned in an announcement.

They fell sick after consuming a cocktail ready at a bar within the luxurious Warwick Fiji resort on the Coral Coast, about 60km west of the capital Suva, it mentioned.

A ministry spokesperson mentioned the company, aged from 18 to 56, included 4 Australians, one American and two foreigners who reside in Fiji, whose nationalities weren’t given.

All seven have been initially taken to the close by Sigatoka hospital.

As a result of severity of their situations, they have been later transferred to the bigger Lautoka Hospital on the island’s west coast, the ministry spokesperson mentioned.

Fiji police are investigating the incident.
