German manufacturing powerhouse X Filme Inventive Pool, its distribution arm X Verleih and Beta Cinema have unveiled a primary search for Tom Tykwers’ new feature-length movie The Mild (Das Licht).
The film marks German director’s first work for the large display since his 2016 Saudi Arabia-set comedy-drama A Hologram for the King, starring Tom Hanks and co-written with Dave Eggers.
Within the meantime, the multi-hyphenate filmmaker has been tied up with producing, writing, directing and creating the music for 4 seasons of hit present Babylon Berlin.

X Verleih/Warner Bros. will launch the movie in German cinemas on October 17, 2024.
