There nonetheless seems to be some dangerous blood permeating between Carmelo Anthony and the staff that drafted him.
Anthony, who was chosen by the Denver Nuggets within the 2003 NBA Draft, just lately made headlines when he referred to as his former staff out for an alleged “petty” transfer they pulled involving Nikola Jokic.
Now, the Syracuse alum appears to be beefing together with his former Nuggets coach George Karl.
In a latest episode of Melo’s eponymous “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony & Child Mero” podcast, the 10-time All-Star revealed his fairly gorgeous first dialog with Karl.
Anthony claimed the veteran coach began off their relationship by calling his new star participant “overrated” whereas evaluating him to two-time Sixth Man of the 12 months Detlef Schrempf.
Karl later responded on X and even doubled down on the Schrempf remark.
“Hey Carmelo Anthony let’s not do that. You’re telling tales which can be 20 years previous. Let’s transfer fwd [sic],” Karl wrote. “And u have been overrated and u want your recreation was as environment friendly as Detlef’s.”
