Former Texas Longhorns quarterback Maalik Murphy has made his switch determination.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Friday evening that Murphy has verbally dedicated to Duke.

Murphy appeared in seven video games for Texas this season, making two begins whereas Quinn Ewers was injured. He threw for 418 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions throughout these video games, each of which the Longhorns received.

At Duke, Murphy will give new head coach Manny Diaz a reputable quarterback for 2024. The Blue Devils have had Riley Leonard at quarterback the previous few seasons, however he transferred to Notre Dame.

Murphy won’t be with the Longhorns for the Faculty Soccer Playoff, which is able to elevate Arch Manning to a backup function at Texas. Duke went 7-5 this season beneath Mike Elko, who has left to teach at Texas A&M.
