Re: “Sound Transit should make public security a prime precedence” [March 3, Opinion]:
The editorial board writes that “a severe problem to the success of billions in investments is making certain that clients really feel they’re secure driving the rails” and {that a} current deadly capturing on mild rail jeopardizes that sense of security.
Gun violence invading our transit system is appalling and unacceptable. Harrowing, too, is the epidemic of street rage shootings on our highways. As of Feb. 4, there had been 9 shootings on main highways in Washington state this 12 months. One more occurred on Feb. 23 on Interstate 5, when a street rage incident escalated into gunshots close to Northgate in Seattle. These shootings are downright frequent now.
We have to tackle rising gun violence as a result of it threatens our public security regardless of how we journey.
