Rob Reiner, who rose to fame taking part in All In The Household‘s liberal firebrand Michael Stivic – or Meathead, to Caroll O’Connor’s Archie Bunker – has paid tribute to Norman Lear, the person who created that launching pad and one among tv’s most impactful and enduring sitcoms.

“I beloved Norman Lear with all my coronary heart,” Reiner tweeted this morning. “He was my second father. Sending my like to Lyn and the entire Lear household.”

Reiner’s father, comedian icon Carl Reiner, died in 2020.
