HONG KONG: The Hong Kong authorities mentioned on Wednesday (Jun 12) it has cancelled the passports of six activists who fled to the UK, calling them “lawless needed criminals”.

Hong Kong final yr issued HK$1 million (US$128,000) bounties for 13 activists based mostly overseas who authorities accused of committing nationwide safety crimes.

The six named on Wednesday – all on the bounty listing – are thought of “lawless needed criminals … hiding in the UK”, a authorities spokesperson mentioned in an announcement.

“They proceed to blatantly interact in actions that endanger nationwide safety … We due to this fact have taken such measure to present them a robust blow,” the spokesperson added, itemizing “cancellation of HKSAR passports” as one of many measures.
