DUBAI: Yemen’s Houthis will introduce navy “surprises” of their Purple Sea operations, the Iran-aligned group’s chief Abdul Malik al-Houthi mentioned in a televised speech on Thursday (Feb 29).
“Our navy operations will proceed and advance and we’ve surprises that our enemies won’t anticipate in any respect,” al-Houthi mentioned.
Houthi militants have repeatedly launched drones and missiles in opposition to worldwide industrial delivery since mid-November, saying they’re performing in solidarity with Palestinians in opposition to Israel’s navy actions in Gaza.
Their Purple Sea assaults have disrupted world delivery compelled companies to re-route to longer and dearer journeys round southern Africa and stoked fears that the Israel-Hamas struggle might unfold to destabilise the broader Center East.
The United States and Britain started placing Houthi targets in Yemen final month in retaliation for the assaults on Purple Sea delivery.
