To the editor: The thought of bringing a light-rail prepare into LAX is an idea a long time outdated. (“‘Harmful and exhausting’ — seniors on utilizing the clunky LAX-it system,” letters, Aug. 4)
When Metro’s C Line (previously the Inexperienced Line) was constructed, there have been many conspiracy theories about why it stopped simply in need of LAX. At a gathering I attended, Metro representatives stated that with the small footprint of LAX, there was not sufficient room to securely carry bigger scale gentle rail into the airport. So, a yet-to-open automated folks mover is being constructed.
Metro’s Ok Line station simply outdoors the airport will hook up with the folks mover. Furthermore, Metro rail and the folks mover will serve bus riders at a consolidated transit station. The present complicated rental automotive scenario will even be consolidated to enhance that messy endeavor.
The thought is to scale back LAX car visitors, together with ride-share drivers. Close by communities are burdened with ever growing LAX gridlock on native streets, and the brand new Metro rail stations and airport folks mover ought to deal with that scenario.
This discount in car visitors from switching to transit will even scale back greenhouse gasoline emissions, which helps everybody.

To the editor: Sure, I agree that attending to and from LAX is an issue and desires tweaking. Within the meantime I’ve a workable and “scathingly good” resolution: Metro’s 232 bus.
I take a $10 cab journey to the bus cease in Lengthy Seaside. The journey on the 232 takes a little bit over an hour, dropping you at Sepulveda and Century boulevards, from the place you stroll to your terminal.
This works significantly better than taking the Metro A Line to the C Line and the LAX shuttle. And, on the airport, you’re strolling with fellow in-the-know vacationers reminiscent of airline pilots — all for lower than $12.
Hooray for the 232 bus — it actually does the job!
