To the editor: It’s about time that the overworked, under-appreciated directors of the Los Angeles Unified College District drew a line within the sand and stated, “We have now had sufficient.” (“LAUSD principals say calls for are too excessive, hours too lengthy. They’re becoming a member of the Teamsters,” Dec. 19)
Having lately retired from LAUSD after 35 years (17 as an assistant principal and later a principal), I’m continually reminded by my former friends that I’m the fortunate one. The job of principal has was a 24/7, year-round place.
The district has drained the enjoyment from their work, so good for them for unionizing.
