Over 30 members of the Iowa Nationwide Guard are set to be deployed to the European nation of Kosovo this week.
Based on KCCI, the Iowa Nationwide Guard is sending 33 troopers to Kosovo as a part of a NATO peacekeeping mission.
The guardsmen might be deployed on December twenty ninth for a nine-month tour.
Newsweek reported the 33 guardsmen will “conduct dwell aerial medevac operations, refueling and upkeep help for america, Kosovo Safety Forces.”

Greater than 30 Iowa Nationwide Guard troopers are making ready for deployment this week.
Officers say they’re heading to Kosovo — Iowa’s sister state — for 9 months. Whereas abroad, the troops will assist help a NATO peacekeeping operation.
A group send-off ceremony might be held Friday morning on the Waterloo Airport Military Aviation Help Facility.
Iowa Nationwide Guard members have been stationed in Kosovo since 2003. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, the president of Kosovo, visited Iowa in October to thank Iowa for many years of cooperation and to reaffirm the connection with the state.
In October, the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, was welcomed to Iowa’s statehouse by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

Gov. Kim Reynolds welcomed Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, the president of Kosovo, to the Iowa statehouse on Tuesday.
Since 2011, Kosovo and Iowa have shared a detailed partnership after former Gov. Terry Branstad signed a sister-state partnership with the nation.
Within the final 20 years, over 700 Iowa Nationwide Guard members have been stationed in Kosovo.
