Justin Allgaier is lastly a NASCAR Xfinity Sequence champion.
With a daring three-wide transfer on the second-to-last restart of the race, Allgaier handed fellow Championship 4 drivers Cole Custer and Austin Hill to take the championship lead.
Whereas Riley Herbst received the race after passing Allgaier within the ultimate nook, the second-place end was sufficient for Allgaier to earn his first title after 14 years of full-time competitors.
The championship comes after Allgaier was penalized with a restart violation and subsequent pit highway dashing penalty earlier within the race.
Allgaier’s crew proprietor, NASCAR Corridor of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., watched as his driver did his burnout on the entrance stretch of the Phoenix Raceway.
