Kelly Clarkson says divorce ‘rips you apart’ when marriage ‘doesn’t work’ after ‘years’ of trying


Kelly Clarkson received candid about how divorce “rips you aside” following her break up from Brandon Blackstock.

In a latest look on “Angie Martinez’s IRL” podcast, the mom of two defined that her divorce “wasn’t an in a single day resolution.”  

“What does divorce do to you? As a result of it has to shift you, proper?” Martinez requested Clarkson.

“It rips you aside,” she replied, “everytime you fall in love with somebody, and it does not work.

After a messy break up, Blackstock and Clarkson finalized their divorce in March 2022 after virtually seven years of marriage.

Through the podcast look, the Grammy winner shared how the divorce has affected their two youngsters — River, 8, and Remi, 6.

“I actually ask my kids every night after we’re snuggling, ‘Are you cheerful? And for those who’re not, what may make you happier?'” Clarkson started.
