Sean Baker’s Anora and Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist have topped the nominations for the forty fifth London Critics’ Circle Movie Awards, making it into seven classes every.

Additional frontrunners within the nominations, introduced at present, embrace Edward Berger’s Conclave and Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance with six nominations every.

They’re adopted by Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez with 5 nominations, and Mike Leigh’s Onerous Truths and Wealthy Peppiatt’s Kneecap, with 4 nominations every.

All of those movies are within the working for Movie of the 12 months alongside Payal Kapadia’s All We Think about as Gentle, Alice Rohrwacher’s La Chimera, RaMell Ross’ Nickel Boys and Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu.

The Actress of the 12 months class celebrates performances from Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Onerous Truths), Nicole Kidman (Babygirl), Mikey Madison (Anora), Demi Moore (The Substance) and Saoirse Ronan (The Outrun), whereas Actor of the 12 months recognises Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Timothée Chalamet (A Full Unknown), Daniel Craig (Queer), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing) and Ralph Fiennes (Conclave).

The winners can be introduced in an awards ceremony at London’s Might Honest Resort on February 2, 2025, hosted by critic Mark Kermode.

Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Curiosity and Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers topped the forty fourth version of the awards with three wins apiece, with the previous title successful Greatest Director and Movie of the 12 months. The inaugural Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation was introduced to Colman Domingo, whereas Jeffrey Wright acquired the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Movie.

The forty fifth London Critics’ Circle Movie Awards have been voted on by the 210-member Movie Part of the Critics’ Circle, the UK’s longest-standing critics’ organisation.

Movies are robotically eligible if they’re launched in UK cinemas or on premiere streaming companies between mid-February 2024 and mid-February 2025.
