To the Editor:
Re “Who May Finish Up Subsequent in Trump’s Gulag?,” by Erwin Chemerinsky and Laurence H. Tribe (Opinion visitor essay, April 10):
On this essay, Justice Sonia Sotomayor is quoted as writing in a dissent: “The implications of the federal government’s place” are “that not solely noncitizens but in addition United States residents may very well be taken off the streets, pressured onto planes and confined to international prisons with no alternative for redress if judicial evaluation is denied unlawfully earlier than elimination.”
I’m submitting this drawing as a cartoon to the editor, which imagines a time when many people strange U.S. residents (and cartoonists) could discover ourselves at risk from our personal authorities.
