The New Orleans Saints are extending a participant who might be important subsequent season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday that the Saints have agreed to a contract extension with huge receiver and kick returner Rashid Shaheed. The 25-year-old Shaheed is getting a brand new one-year, $5.2 million extension.

Shaheed was electrical final season for New Orleans, making a Professional Bowl crew and incomes First-Group All-Professional honors together with his versatility. He logged 723 complete return yards (on each kick and punt returns), 719 complete receiving yards, and 6 complete touchdowns (5 receiving and one return).

As a result of Shaheed solely has two seasons of accrued service to this point, he was an unique rights free agent (that means that the Saints had been solely required to tender him a minimal wage of $985,000 to maintain him). However New Orleans is giving Shaheed a big reward past that. 

That displays Shaheed’s elevated worth to them now that Michael Thomas has been launched, particularly now that the NFL may have new kickoff guidelines starting in 2024.
