Christopher Landon has exited Scream VII, the director introduced on social media.
“I assume now’s pretty much as good a time as any to announce I formally exited Scream 7 weeks in the past,” Landon shared on X, the social media platform previously generally known as Twitter. “It will disappoint some and delight others. It was a dream job that became a nightmare. And my coronary heart did break for everybody concerned. Everybody. However it’s time to maneuver on.”
He continued, “I’ve nothing extra so as to add to the dialog apart from I hope Wes’ legacy thrives and lifts above the din of a divided world. What he and Kevin created is one thing wonderful and I used to be honored to have even the briefest second basking of their glow.”
Landon’s exit from the horror film franchise comes after Melissa Barrera was fired from the movie as a consequence of her social media posts on the Israel-Hamas battle. After Barrera was dropped from starring within the seventh installment of the horror collection, Landon posted he was not the one guilty for her exit. The publish was later deleted.
A day later, it was introduced that Jenna Ortega would not reprise her function both as a consequence of Wednesday’s taking pictures schedule.
Following backlash on social media for reducing Barrera from Scream VII, Spyglass Media launched a press release noting the explanations they’d for letting her go.

Barrera defined she felt “the accountability of getting a platform that permits me the privilege of being heard, and due to this fact I’ve tried to make use of it to boost consciousness about points I care about and to lend my voice to these in want.”
