A minimum of seven individuals have been killed and 69 injured when a freeway bridge collapsed onto railway tracks after an “unlawful interference,” derailing a practice in Russia’s Bryansk area that borders Ukraine, Russian authorities mentioned early on Sunday.

The practice’s locomotive and several other vehicles derailed “as a result of collapse of a span construction of the highway bridge because of an unlawful interference within the operation of transport,” Russian Railways mentioned on the Telegram messaging app.

Alexander Bogomaz, the governor of the Bryansk area, mentioned on Telegram that 44 individuals have been hospitalised. Three kids have been amongst these injured with one in severe situation, he added.

Russia’s ministry of emergency conditions mentioned on Telegram that efforts to search out and rescue victims continued all through the night time, and that some 180 personnel have been concerned within the operation.
