Iran and Sweden exchanged prisoners on Saturday in a significant breakthrough, based on the Swedish prime minister.
Iran launched the European Union diplomat and Swedish nationwide Johan Floderus, who had been arrested in April 2022 in Tehran, in addition to the twin nationwide Saeed Azizi, the Swedish prime minister stated.
“It’s with pleasure that I can announce that Johan Floderus and Saeed Azizi are actually on a airplane residence to Sweden, and can quickly be reunited with their households,” the prime minister, Ulf Kristersson, stated on social media.
In change, Sweden launched Hamid Noury, a high-ranking Iranian official who had been sentenced to life in a Swedish courtroom for conflict crimes dedicated in 1988 in Iran.
The swap was coordinated with the assistance of Oman, based on a press release printed by the Omani state information company.
