To the editor: For these of us who, like op-ed article author Darren Rosenblum’s mom, marvel what number of are “they” and are jangled by the discordant “they is,” how a few new phrase to make it clear? (“Take it from a nonbinary professor: Don’t make college students state their pronouns on Day One,” Opinion, Sept. 4)

I recommend “shay,” a phrase that mixes “she,” “he” and “they,” for a nonbinary particular person particular person.

Utilization: “Shay is coming to lunch. Set one further plate.”

So easy. No want for confusion or embarrassment. Let’s hear it for shay!
