EXCLUSIVE: Degree 33 Leisure has taken home on H.P. Mendoza’s The Secret Artwork of Human Flight, which made its world premiere finally 12 months’s Tribeca Movie Competition. A July theatrical launch has been set adopted by a debut on digital platforms.
Pic written by Jesse Orenshein facilities round a kids’s e book creator, Ben Grady (Grant Rosenmeyer), who mourning the lack of his spouse (Reina Hardesty, It’s What’s Inside) stumbles upon a self-help manifesto written by an eccentric guru calling himself “Mealworm” (Supporting Actor Oscar nominee for Sound of Metallic, Paul Raci) that guarantees to unlock the ability to fly. The e book arrives… and so does Mealworm, forcing Ben to navigate his household life, accusations of foul play, and the weird rituals laid earlier than him within the hopes of therapeutic and, simply possibly, attaining flight. Pic’s deal was negotiated by Pip Ngo of XYZ Movies on behalf of the filmmakers, and Olavarria on behalf of Degree 33.
