In 1987, pro-Palestine extremist Georges Ibrahim Abdallah was sentenced to life in jail for his function within the 1984 murders of US navy attaché Colonel Charles Robert Ray and Israeli diplomat Yacov Barsimantov in Paris.
The 74-year-old Abdallah, who has grew to become a left-wing image for the Palestinian trigger, was freed by France on Friday and positioned on a flight on to Beirut.
In accordance with the BBC, his lawyer describes him as “the person who has spent the longest time in jail for occasions linked to the Israeli-Palestinian battle.”

The U.S. Embassy in France reacted by honoring the reminiscence of Colonel Ray.
“In reminiscence of Colonel Charles R. Ray, murdered in Paris 43 years in the past.Immediately, we collect collectively in solemn remembrance at his memorial plaque.”
“The US opposes the discharge of convicted terrorist Georges Ibrahim Abdallah and reiterates that his launch wouldn’t solely endanger the protection of American diplomats overseas but in addition betray the reminiscence of the victims and their households.”
