United States President Donald Trump is deploying 2,000 Nationwide Guard troops to the town of Los Angeles, the place a continued immigration crackdown has led to protests and clashes between authorities and demonstrators.
The White Home stated in a press release on Saturday that Trump was deploying the Guardsmen to “tackle the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester” in California.
California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, objected to the transfer and stated in a put up on X that the transfer from the Republican president was “purposefully inflammatory and can solely escalate tensions”.
