Democratic lawmakers pressed Bondi about her independence from Trump, noting two of Trump’s first-term attorneys common fell out of favour after they refused to intervene on issues of curiosity to Trump.

“The priority is that weaponisation of the Justice Division might nicely happen below your tenure,” Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse informed Bondi. “We need to guarantee that’s not the case, that you just stay impartial.”
