WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump signed an government order on Thursday (Jul 31) growing tariffs on Canadian items to 35 per cent from 25 per cent, the White Home stated.

The brand new charges go into impact on Friday.

“In response to Canada’s continued inaction and retaliation, President Trump has discovered it crucial to extend the tariff on Canada from 25 per cent to 35 per cent to successfully deal with the present emergency,” the White Home stated.

The White Home additionally stated that Trump has additional modified reciprocal tariff charges.

“The president has decided that it’s crucial and applicable to change the reciprocal tariff charges for sure international locations,” it stated in a reality sheet.
