WASHINGTON: The UN Safety Council expressed “alarm” at rising violence in war-torn Sudan on Friday (Dec 23), a day after it reported that seven million individuals have been displaced by the battle.

In a joint assertion, the Council “strongly condemned” assaults on civilians and the unfold of the battle “into areas internet hosting massive populations of internally displaced individuals, refugees, and asylum seekers”.

“The members of the Safety Council expressed alarm on the spreading violence and deteriorating humanitarian state of affairs in Sudan,” the assertion mentioned, reflecting the worsening state of affairs within the nation.
