The College of Washington and all universities ought to be institutionally impartial on any societal points indirectly impacting the college and its instructional mission.
Vanderbilt College has bravely taken that stance for years. So Vanderbilt was not extorted by protesters to take an institutional stand towards Israel. The Vanderbilt chancellor rightly instructed the protesters not too long ago desirous to disrupt the varsity that such mayhem on campus wouldn’t be tolerated. Decorum and campus guidelines prevailed.
