Former first-round draft decide DeVante Parker has introduced his retirement from the NFL.

Parker, the No. 14 total decide within the 2015 draft by the Miami Dolphins, informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he’s hanging up his cleats so he can spend extra time along with his household.

“I need to see my children, spend high quality time with them,” Parker informed Schefter. “I need to be there for them at any time when I can.”

Parker’s retirement comes as a shock. He had simply signed a one-year, $4.69 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in March. The 31-year-old caught 33 passes for 394 yards in 13 video games with the New England Patriots final season. He was anticipated to compete for the third huge receiver spot within the Eagles’ offense behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Parker spent the primary seven seasons of his profession with the Dolphins and the final two with New England. His greatest statistical season got here in 2019 when he had 72 catches for 1,202 yards and 9 touchdowns.
