Kenya shaken by mass demonstrations towards proposed tax hikes.
It began with peaceable protests towards a finance invoice tabled in Kenya’s parliament.
The proposed laws included tax will increase to boost additional funds the federal government says it must repay public debt.
The protests intensified, crowds stormed the parliament compound and the navy was deployed.
Safety forces used stay rounds, killing and injuring many.
Initially defiant, President William Ruto referred to as the demonstrations treasonous, and promised to take a troublesome stance on what he referred to as anarchy. However on Wednesday, he stated he was withdrawing the invoice.
So, will the unrest be contained?
