Re: “Zebras, camels and flames, oh my! Circus animals rescued after truck catches hearth on Indiana freeway” [Jan. 27, Nation]:
It’s unhappy and irritating that within the twenty first century, some charities just like the Mizpah Shrine Circus in Indiana proceed to depend on elevating funds off the backs of circus animals. The article exhibits how precarious circus animals’ lives may be. Whereas I’m grateful that no animals have been damage in that incident, the subsequent time they might not be as fortunate. Circus animals are compelled to journey from city to city in vehicles and railcars that permit them little probability for train or the rest that will even start to duplicate their lives within the wild. It’s particularly tough for the massive, unique animals. And how much lives do they lead when not on the highway? Many are chained for lengthy intervals of time and forcibly educated to carry out unnatural tips.
I’d encourage charities/organizations to look into extra trendy and humane methods to fundraise. In the event that they wish to proceed with the circus theme, human-only circuses whose performers voluntarily select the circus life placed on extravagant and entertaining exhibits — no cruelty or animal abuse concerned.
