EXCLUSIVE: DeVon Franklin is staying in enterprise with CBS Studios and has offered his newest present.
The founding father of Franklin Leisure is growing detective drama Grace for CBS after reupping his take care of the studio for an additional two years.
Franklin, who was behind the Eva Longoria-directed Flamin’ Sizzling film, signed his first take care of CBS Studios in 2020 and it was renewed in 2022.
Grace follows a true-blue detective recognized for his brash, cynical model and a passionate, community-focused pastor who wears her coronary heart on her sleeve reluctantly accomplice to unravel complicated crimes as they debate their divergent beliefs whereas making an attempt to disregard their rising chemistry.
It’s being written by Devon Greggory, showrunner of Paramount+’s revival of The Recreation who additionally has a deal on the studio, and Corey Moore, who has written on sequence together with All Rise and NCIS: New Orleans. The pair will exec produce alongside Franklin.
Jenna Nicholson Grieb runs Franklin Leisure’s TV division as Vice President of Tv and can function Co-EP on Grace.
Elsewhere, Franklin exec produces BET+ sequence Kingdom Enterprise, a music-driven drama set within the high-stakes world of Gospel music, and can also be engaged on Performed for the streamer. He beforehand produced Breakthrough starring Chrissy Metz for Disney/Fox, Sony’s The Star and Miracles From Heaven, one of many highest-grossing faith-based theatrical movies of all time.
