An intersection in Silver Lake not too long ago designated as historic for its reference to Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy’s basic 1932 movie, The Music Field, will quickly get its personal signal.
The Metropolis Council on Wednesday voted unanimously to call the intersection of Vendome Road and Del Monte Drive because the “1932 web site of the `The Music Field’ Starring Laurel and Hardy.”
Laurel and Hardy gained an Academy Award for brief comedy for the work, which was
filmed on the Music Field Steps in Silver Lake. The premise is easy: the lads must ship an enormous piano to a home on the prime of the steps.

The steps are visited by followers from all over the world.
“Silver Lake is residence to so many historic outside staircases, contributing to the wealthy cultural material of our neighborhood,” L.A. Metropolis Councilman Hugo Soto-Martínez mentioned in an announcement. “We’re proud to acknowledge this small however mighty landmark within the historical past of our metropolis’s most necessary business.”
The Music Field Steps already are marked with a plaque erected by the Hollywood Heritage Museum, The Society of Working Cameramen, and The Silver Lake Enchancment Affiliation.
The Silver Lake Enchancment Affiliation will host its annual “Music Field Steps Day Pageant” at Laurel and Hardy Park, throughout the road from the Music Field Steps.
