TOULON, FRANCE: Russian President Vladimir Putin could have “performed” his US counterpart Donald Trump if he fails to agree to satisfy with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky by a Monday (Sep 1) deadline, French President Emmanuel Macron warned on Friday (Aug 29).

Macron mentioned he hoped the long-anticipated assembly would happen however cautioned that if it didn’t, France and its allies would push for contemporary “major and secondary sanctions” to strain Moscow.

“This can’t keep with out response,” Macron informed reporters after talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz within the south of France. Each leaders mentioned they might converse once more with Trump over the weekend.

“I hope it (the assembly between Putin and Zelensky) takes place but when not… we’ll push for major and secondary sanctions which can strain Russia and pressure it to come back to the negotiating desk,” Macron mentioned.
