Based on Pink Sox supervisor Alex Cora, newly acquired second baseman Vaughn Grissom is unlikely to play on Opening Day on account of a groin pressure on his left aspect.
“We have got to close him down,” Cora informed Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe on Saturday. “It’ll take quite a lot of days. Clearly, no timetable. However with this now, Opening Day may not occur for him.”
Grissom was injured whereas fielding floor balls on Thursday. An MRI confirmed that the infielder had suffered a slight pressure.
“I used to be simply taking floor balls, and it bit me,” Grissom informed MLB.com’s Daybreak Klemish. “Clearly, it [stinks]. New group, I wish to be on the market with the fellows, so it is undoubtedly irritating.”
