WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday (Apr 30) urged India and Pakistan to work with one another to de-escalate tensions after final week’s Islamist militant assault in India-administered Kashmir that killed 26 individuals, the State Division stated.

Rubio spoke individually with Indian International Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif whereas expressing assist to India in combating extremism and urging Pakistan to cooperate in probing the assault, the State Division stated after Rubio’s calls.
